How do you check timing belt position through covers?

Trying to determine if t-belt is out of wack. thanks

On your vehicle you line up the crank shaft pulley with the small groove to the 0 on the plastic timing cover, then there is a plug on the top half of the timing cover you would look into and make sure the mark on the top cam pulley is aligned with the mark on the head.
