what causes the humming in 2005 grand prix
Common whining/humming noises with engine running in neutral are: belts, vacuum leak, bearing, power steering pump, alternator, AC compressor, fuel pump. With car in motion: wheel bearing, CV joint, transmission gear/bearing, tires. Less obvious humming noises: heater fan, wiper motor. If you can give us the source - where the noise seems to be coming from - it will help a lot.
I hear it on the driver side under hood or in the car . Sounds like it could be electrical . Doesn't do it in park . I have new belts . kinda loud .
The harder I press the gas the louder . Like its a bad ground for a stereo . I do have a blown speaker I dont know how bad it is . I really want to up the HP on this engine. It does get hot quick I live in Florida . Are there performance parts for a Pontiac 2005 Base model 3800 series 3.8 L . I've heard about bigger injectors ? Is the a chip I can buy to in tune it .
When driving diwn highway on right hand curves there is a slight humming noise that sounds like a tire is about to blow but tires are new , now the humming is constant and louder till I get up to about 45 to 50 mph
