What led you to the conclusion that the fuel pump was bad? If you're getting smoke, you're getting combustion. Where is the smoke coming from? Was it running okay before changing the injectors?

What color is the smoke? Black? If so, too much fuel is causing it to flood out. HTH. -Jim
