Why would a Cutlass Ciera Oldsmobile run through the gas so fast on the highway driving granny style. The motor sounds good and there's no smell of gas while driving.

You didn't state the year, copy and paste the below for what the fuel economy should be for your year car, if its low you may need a good tune up, including replacing all the air filters, an oil and transmission fluid change. Most likely the transmission is not shifting into overdrive and the torque converter clutch isn't locking in. It's common on GMs. HTH. -Jim
