Why would a Cutlass Ciera Oldsmobile run through the gas so fast on the highway driving granny style. The motor sounds good and there's no smell of gas while driving.

Most likely the transmission is not shifting into overdrive and the torque converter clutch isn't locking in. It's common on GMs. HTH. -Jim
