Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Keep on topping my oil every week. What can cause it's unusual ? Oil is very low, finding
leaks. Puddle of fluid on the engine and it is  hot, the fluid. So that makes  me think it is
the engine oil leak. Am I right?

Is it over to the side of the engine or located more central on top of the engine?

let me check into a couple things and see if I can find an idea on where it'd come from.

I also just ran a carfax on my car, and guess what? It was Subaru where I purchased my car who last changed the oil in July 2013. They can't get away from this responsibility now when I show them this paper. Just hate being lied to:(

I know what you mean, when I bought my last car I had to replace $600 in parts within the first 2 months, hazzards of buying a used car unfortunately. Well there's nothing I can think of that should be causing oil to pool on top of the engine.

yes sir, it is on:) I am a lady:) but always have a few guys backing me up here concerning my car. Still wondering where the heck is this liquid comes from if not a hose from the power steering then that goes right over it (engine)

Keeping my fingers crosses that I don;t have to buy lots of parts for 20k car end of October purchase. Will keep an eye on this new* baby and let you know what's up. I really hope to call Subaru a good reliable brand.

They generally are a good brand, they've had a few flaws here and there, but I'd trust any of my Subarus over any of the other cars I've owned (Toyota or Jeep).

Im looking to buy a 2011 Subaru Forester and am worried about oil consumption, and the head gasket problem as well as the timing components. Should I be worried? It has 97K miles on it and has only had two owners. Its also a 5 speed.

GuruX3P1Z - I have a 2011 - original owner, have had the head replaced twice and seasl another 2 times. This seems to have finally stabilize and Subaru took care of everything 100%. This being said, I now have 170k miles on the car, and no consumption issues any longer. I got 300k out of my last Toyota, will get that out of this car hopefully as well. The issue are real
