I have a 2002 mercury mountaineer. Gas pedal keeps getting stuck.

looked behind the pedal and found a pin, the pedal was loose tried to push pin back up but unable to do so. Afraid to drive for fear it will stick. Please HELP!

If the pin has already kicked out to one side then yes it will stick again, the best bet is to replace the entire pedal assembly as it all wears out different intervals, that way it is all new. It is not hard to replace it yourself, you just need to be a little flexible to get down there .

Sorry to say but the Ford dealer is the best bet unless you want to take a chance on a used part from an auto salvage yard.
