'm thinking of purchasing a 1990 t-bird with a 3.8 V-6 has 101,000 miles do these engines have alot of problems?
Not that I know of. But others can chime in if they know. Make sure the car has some maintainence records and get a mechanic or friend who knows about cars to look it over for you.
I agree with Tom. Take some one who knows about cars and that knows what to listen for. How it sounds when it starts. And test drive if before you make an offer on it. Oh and the main thing make sure there is no leaks and the only thing that could be going out maybe be the battery depends on if they take care of the car and does its regular tune ups
The 3.8 is known for blowing headgaskets.
yup known for bad headgaskets
i've got a buddy that has had two. he's got a lead foot and loves the car. good luck with your buy
the restrictive exhaust is what causes the failures on the tbirds just fyi. the cats have a 90 deg bend in them
