1999 FORD RANGER BRAKE LIGHTS

I bought a t-connector for the truck and the pig tail has no power coming out of the brake light wires(yellow and green) what could be the problem?

Check the connector on the feed side, if it has brake light power when the pedal is pressed then the T connector has an internal problem, it could be defective even though it is new.

I peeled the wire at the tail lights and had brake light power so does that mean the t-connector is bad?
