f250 1987 two wheel to four wheel

I have a 1987 ford f250 xlt lariat extended cab two wheel drive with towing package and a 460 under the hood. the truck is my husband's and he wants to change it from an automatic to standard and from two wheel drive to a four wheel drive. is this possible and what would be needed to make it happen?. thank you.

If he is good at fabrication its all good. Just get a donor truck 89 to 97, they use the ZF5 5spd, make sure the transfer case us good, take lots of pics before you rip the donor apart so you have a guide. Its basicly a bolt up application. Just remember to fo new nickle/copper breaklines and por 15 the frame. There are tons of fonor 4x4 5sod trucks cheap. Even with plows you coukd sell to recoup costs or have it for yourself.
