Changed valve cover gasket now it idles very high may need a map of vacuum hoses

I think you are on the right track about vac problems. with the engine running, first cold start up , spray a little carb cleaner around in there and see if idle changes, might find the leak that way. also, you may have left your pcv valve unhooked when you did the work. this happened to me once!
