I have a 2008 ford explorer that is making noise when shifting in low gear. I had ruined a tire and replaced with same size but now dealer tells me you have to replace all 4 tires. Correct info?

For AWD vehicles, all 4 tires should be the same tread height for the system to work properly. A one off tire wouldn't make a noise shifting to low gear. How long have you had the new tire one. It could have caused your issue if it was on long enough. Take it to an independent garage/mechanic and have them inspect the transfer case.....http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=18
