I have a Ford 350 with an a/c unit that runs on gas and want to convert it to electric. Do you know if that is possible. Also what is the curbside weight of a Ford Econoline 350 van? Can anyone pls help....
Is this a window type A/C unit in a motor home, or is this the factory A/C system in the cab? As far as the weight goes, you can look at the sticker that is either on the edge of the door, or on the pillar that the door latch is on. That should have a spot on there that gives a GVW or GVWR. This is the Gross Vehicle Weight, or Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. This won't tell you what your vehicle weighs unloaded, but will tell you the max weight that vehicle is allowed to be, including whatever load or cargo you have in/on the vehicle. This weight cannot be exceeded at any time. This usually isn't a problem for every day cars, but its more of a concern for commercial vehicles. This weight is dependent on several factors, including brake capacity, tires, frame, and engine size. If a cop pulls you over and thinks you are overloaded, he/she can call DOT and have them come weigh you. If you are over weight they can fine you, and those fines can be pretty hefty. As far as what your vehicle weighs at that moment, the only reliable way to tell is to go by the local recycling plant and ask to go on the scales.
