Converter needs to be replaced it is clogged not letting exhaust out.

Have the engine codes read. Bet the check engine light is lit. Could be bad converter, bad fuel injector, bad O2 sensor or other issue. The red glow is telling you that fuel is burning in the catalyst thus overheating it.
