where can I purchase a transmission dipstick for a 1989 Ford Van E-150
A junk yard. You probably could get one at a transmission shop.
I checked junk yards. They don't have one. Can I order one on line?
Do a search and see.
Actually auto parts stores sell Dorman replacement dipstick tubes for most makes and models. Problem with getting one from a salvage yard or a pick-a-part are their minimum lot fees. My local salvage yard charges a min. $45 fee, no matter how small the part, the ones at Autozone or Advance are around $20-35. Pick-a-parts are cheaper but it's hard to find just what you need that hasn't picked over.
I did a search on google.com and amazon.com. Can't find one. Where else can I look. Thanks
I am sure a transmission shop can order you one.
Just go to www.autozone.com or www.advanceautoparts.com, they sell transmission dipsticks and tubes. Dorman would be the lowest cost disptick they carry. O just go there and get it in person, if you have one near you. Autozone, Advance, O'reilly, they all sell them.
