What type of tire should I get for an E150 cargo van?

Question type: General

I have a 2006 e150 cargo van.  On a regular basis, daily, one of my deliveries consists of 2-1000 lbs skids. I'm also
averaging 1500 miles per week.  Should I purchase regular tires or 10 ply?  Thanks!

the ten ply will hold up better under the loads which is safer for you, and they typically wear longer too.

If you are only taking one of those skids at a time regular tires will suit you fine and they should be less expensive. I would suggest BFGoodrich Longtrail T/A tour. They have a 60k mile warranty and many reviews say they last much longer than that. The p235/70r16 carry a 7200lbs load rating for a set.

thanks, Jared. Which letters at the end of the P235/70R16 size should I get. There are so many choices. Based on the above conditions, which letter designation would you recommend?

I would say you should go with a (104) or higher load rating and an R, S, or T speed Rating. I have 108T tires on my truck and can load a 2,300lbs pallet in the bed with no significant bulging of the tires. Hope this helps

No, but I do landscaping and have to haul mulch and sod regularly.
