04 crown Victoria

Asked by Woahitscaseybear May 10, 2017 at 10:18 PM about the Ford Crown Victoria

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving up a bridge and got to the top and my
accelerator just stopped working and I couldn't go
faster than 40. When I took off my cruise control I
started slowing and I would kind of accelerate when
I would push on the gas and then let off. I got to the
bottom of the bridge and by the time I got to a
parking lot I had to non stop pump the gas just to
get into the parking spot. When I sit with the car
running in park it shakes and rumbles super bad
and the battery light keeps randomly coming on
and going off. It comes on for half a second then
goes off and then a few seconds later will come on
and stay on for maybe a second or so and go off.

You need check first battery terminal connection and cable. .if it's good check the serpentine belt if loss because some times the tenssioner goes bad and effect on elternator work..the last thing check elternator voltage on positive terminal it's should be between 13.5 to 15 when vehicle running. .maybe this will help you thank you

Sounds like the serpentine belt may be slipping. Check the tensioner and the idler pulley(s). Also check the a/c compressor to see if it is locked up.
