1.3 litre engine transplant into a car which had a 1.6 litre engine? Physically maybe, but it would need to work quite a bit harder to move the car, which would reduce engine life. Not sure whether it would mate up with the transmission without and adapter plate.

Be careful with this swap! A 1991 vehicle is OBD I. A 1996 vehicle is OBD II. The computer command control systems are different and may not work!! Do some homework here to make sure!! Don't want you getting stuck with something that won't ever run! HTH. -Jim
