With that amount of milage, have your engine trouble codes read. Your problem may be more engine related than transmission related. If the engine codes don't show a fault then take your Tacoma to a reputable transmission shop for an inspection. Also don't be shy about getting a second opinion at another shop, before any work is started. The lowest price is not always (read: hardly ever ) a good indicator of quality work.
