1999 toyota tacoma v6 2wd

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck went from running great, to not starting at all.  When i insert and turn the
key, i get no lights or engine, only the chime noise.  40 amp fuse, next to battery
was blown. As soon as i put a new fuse in, it pops. No key was in ignition at the
time either.  I guess i have a short somewhere??? Any suggestions on where i
could look next???  PLEASE HELP!!

Look for any wires close to the biggest rust area , A multi tester is useful for electrical work

Yes, you have a dead short in that circuit. Possibly a worn positive battery cable touching something metal. Hope that helps! Jim
