Went through a pool of water in my 1999 Nissan Frontier - makes hissing sound when i engage the clutch - what should I do?

Asked by Nov 09, 2015 at 11:05 PM about the Nissan Frontier

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Yes, only when I shift gears.  If I am at a stop light, the truck sounds normal, but as soon as I engage the clutch the hissing sound begins.  I'm just worried the transmission will slip and leave me stranded.  Any thoughts.  thanks for your response...IPAgirl
