Does the dealer have to sell at the price listed?
At Car gurus Titus Will has a Nissan Rogue listed. Do they have to sell the car at the
Unless this Dealer has a clearly stated "Haggle Free" price policy, then by all means, try to negotiate for the best possible deal that you can. Use the tools on this site to determine what a Great, Good, Fair or Bad Deal look like for similarly equipped Nissan Rogues.
Even when stated "haggle free" that does not mean a dealer on any given day may move on the price to make a deal. It seems only CarMax is not willing to negotiate their over priced vehicles. They just have a very good ad campaign that people seem to buy into. We at Military auto Center try to be pretty haggle free as we just price vehicles very fair to start with. One is always welcome to try to beat up my GM though if you can. As long as the deal ends up good for both sides.. I say.. it never hurts to ask!
CarMax isn't the only "Haggle Free dealer to be hard asses about never haggling. I bought my current car at a CarMax-like place here in NJ. I tried to negotiate a little, but these folks would NOT budge at all, not even if a Sales Mgr is involved. They just said "we price out cars at fair prices to begin with". The ONLY time they lower the price is if the car has been sitting on their lot too long and they are desperate to sell it!!
