What would make my 2002 Mazda miata stop running while driving ?

the car felt like it was running out of gas but I had a full tank,  the power sterling stopped, the engine stopped and the brake stopped working too.  the car battery will still working and I could use my flashers.  I had to have the car towed

If you have a broken timing belt make sure you change you water pump and tension pullies for the timing belt while your in there. Its much cheaper to do while its all apart and its recommended in your owners manual as well.

Agree with Mark. Have had two timing belts on two separate Miatas quit/break and your description of your car's behavior fits my experience.
