Pros and cons of owning a VW passat tdi?

I have a 08 Tahoe that is paid for but
with 16mpg's, and a busy family of
traveling baseball, I'm trying to
decide if trading for a passat would
be worth it?

the 2003 VW Passat W8 Station Wagon is lot's of fun to drive , in Snow or wet Roads
