What year VW beetle do you own? How many miles?

its a vw beetle of 1972...1300cc but i do not know how many miles beacause i have changed the speedometer...

You have a steering box with an adjustable worm gear if it is like my 1971 or 1970. It has a screw and a locking nut. Ajust it till there is only a lil play in steering. Then tighten locking nut. Done. if that does not fix it.... Steering box or bushings or dampener could be bad. Also anything loose in front wheels makes steering weird.

Access panel is on driver side behind spare tire.
