big turning raduis after replacing tire to 16 inch wheels

in my 75 beetle i replaced the tires to 16 inx 5.5 rims now the tires touches
dthe suspension and has a big turning raduis. Can we still adjust?

No. not really, the only option you would have would be to put a spacer behind the rim, BUT then running the risk of hitting the fenders. Also this is not advisable because it is hard on the wheel bearings.
