My Vw Jetta has no reverse, is it cheaper to replace the tranny or fix the old one?
No it is cheaper to fix.. . . .If its just the gear. . .if not i would look a the 19tdi polo box!!! Does wonders!!!
Its a 1997 2.0 gt model
i had the exact same problem in my 94' jetta 2.0 gl III i just replaced the tranny and i only paid 120$
there is no way you only dropped 120 for a tranny replacement, 120 doesnt even come close to the labor let alone a whole new tranny..whose your hook up? lol
I have a '97 jetta 2.0L Jetta also and I had to get a rebuilt for 2K a replacement would have been 4k and i bought the car for 3400. I guess it is a prototype transmission. Pain in the ass and its starting to give me problems again and my rebuilt warrenty is up now.
