How to reattach Cabrio 2002 convertible rear window?

I have a 2002 Cabrio and the back window peeled away from the canvas roof.  Nothing has worked.      Please email with answer:

I've researched your issue and if the window has fallen out of the canvas top, there is no way to reinsert the window back in. Tthe top is worn out and the only way to fix it is replacing your top with a new one.

Hi Tom, There are 2 sites on the web about a VW Bettle and Corvette convertible with the same window problem. Both sites talk about using the 3M products, Glass Primer and Window Weld. Both excellent results. What do you think? Thanks
