Asked by GuruG6ZXR Aug 30, 2020 at 05:39 AM about the Isuzu Panther

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

how come when i check my automatic transmission fluid while engine is cold
and not running it shows that it is in perfect level but when I check it while it is
running whether it is hot or cold it doesnt show any fluid reaching the dipstick.
Is this normal?

If you are checking the transmission fluid when cold, it would be above the full level. But you should always check the transmission fluid when the engine is fully warmed up, engine on and parked on a level surface. So I suspect your are running slightly low on fluid, and checking on an incline.

Checking it cold and not running is the wrong way to check the fluid level.
