My 2005 Touring Sebring has a "rattle" no one find a reason
MY 2005 Touring Sebring has a "rattle", passenger side, low speeds over bumps or rough road, and stops when I apply the brakes lightly. Brakes were replaced, rear struts were replaced (and related components), all wheel bearings, etc. I have taken it to dealer, various local mechanics..... no one seems to know.
That sounds like a missing brake pad spring on that side.
It would be very easy to overlook something like that.
Thank you, I'll see if that is the issue......
when you have your car jacked up, grab the wheel and try to wiggle it. If it wiggles then you may need to change out the wheel bearing. had a similar issue with my sebring convertible.
I did get them all replaced and it still rattles (@ $175.00 each)......
I just re read your question. I'd look in there and see if anything is loose. You said it rattles on bumps and rough roads. start with the wheel well covers and work your way in. it could be as simple as a bolt that needs to be tightened down. even check your hub cap if you have them.
Hello...i am having a similar problem....did you ever find the solution?
I also have a squeeking problem going over bumps, especially in the rear. I recently picked up a 2004, had both front and back struts and front ball joints replaced. They WD40ed everything they could find that might cause squeeking. It was reduced for about a week, but it's back again. Any thoughts for a simple solution?
My car (Buick) has the same issue - it has 110,000 miles on it. I checked out all of the obvious causes as you did...my issue is the steering column. You can usually hear a pop/click when the steering wheel is turned hard to the right or left as well.
