Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm new here and I just want to know
an honest opinion about the mighty
840ci. Is it really worth holding out
for a 4.4L if I can find a 4.0L in
reasonable condition?

There is little to no difference in performance of the two engines. Regardless of the version, these cars are expensive to repair. Have a pre- purchase inspection done on any 8 Series you're considering by a BMW dealer....it will run around $250; some even credit the fee back toward work you authorize....these are great cars...good luck!
