Can the daytime lights and headlights be turned on at the same time?

Asked by Oct 21, 2012 at 01:50 AM about the Toyota Prius

Question type: General

Just purchased the 2012 pruis and want to turn on the daytime lights and headlights at the same time.

1 Answer

Ok I don't know much about the Prius, so I did a little research. The daytime running lights ARE the headlights, on a slightly different brightness. There is not a separate bulb or system. The system prevents the regular headlights, including tail lights from functioning in daylight, presumably to save every iota of energy. Cover the sensor to make it think it is darkness and that should allow all lights to work. Why you feel the need for this is none of my business, but I am curious
