I have an '83 BMW 320i I am selling. A buyer came today and searched the motor for a vin stamp. I cannot find a location dates match but no vin?? Can anyone help?
Personally I wouldn't worry about it. If the buyer is being that fussy about a matching numbers car then HE should know where to find the VIN on the engine. Like me for example, I'm into '60s vintage Cadillacs. I know exactly where to find the VIN stamps on both the engine and body of '60s era Cadillacs. To answer your question though, there's a website called "bimmerfest". It talks about anything BMW. I'm sure someone there can tell you exactly where it should be. HTH. - Jim
I agree, that model isn't going to be worth more with an original motor down the road..... But here is what I found.....http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=72192
You're welcome. Glad to help. - Jim
