2000 Cadillac Catera

I will try to make this as painless as possible. I
have become the owner of a 2000 Catera.  I knew
nothing of the Catera until a few months ago.  I
have done some reading and it looks like this
model  has had its fair share of problems. I need
some help...  This car has multiple things going
on..  The turn signals blink extreamly fast,  the
security system has begun locking the doors
continusly. Even sitting at the drive thru getting
food with the car running it tried to lock the doors
25-30 times. The code shows a miss in cyls 1-3-5.
The tranny has been just barely gotten me to this
point (thank goodness for the snowflake). I have a
new used Transmission for it.  Oh,  and the
alternator is bad.  So I have ordered an alternator,  
I have ordered an alternator,  an ECM due to poor
engine idle control,  and a 1-3-5 coil pack to install
hoping that will take care of a few of my woe's.  I
know probably to much here to address,  but I
thought if nothing else this might humor you.

Well the fast blinking turn signal is probably a burned out bulb. The locks cycling - door lock sensor (located inside driver's door).

Not a bulb. That was my first thought , but all bulbs are good. My next guess would be the flasher or whatever its called that plugs into the fuse panel. Hey Ken , I forgot to ask about what I think it was called the "Sir Coil" my turn signals will not turn themselves off and i end up cursing someone because they've pulled out in front of me. That's when my son says "Dad your signal is on" and I yell at him " I KNOW IT I AM TURNING UP THERE. ANYHOW I saw the sir coil in the steering column. And won he deft
