Coil not firing nothing .New coil nothing to the distributor.and I'm pretty sure it is. wired correctly. 1977 mg midget

Have you checked for a trigger signal at the coil wires, I thought you had spark before but it wasn't getting to the cap.

You may have have a failure of the ignition module, if you can't find any broken wires you might consider putting on another solid state unit, or go back to points ignition, as I don't know what system you now have it is hard to say how much was removed during the refit. Just a thought.
