man is asking $900 but I'm not sure if that's a fair price.  the truck is in poor condition but runs

You don't elaborate on the "poor condition"- is it ugly, body stuff, or mechanical stuff, or both? The ugly part won't cost you any money after you buy it, but the mechanical stuff might- and putting money into an ugly vehicle is the worst way to play the game-
