Why does the light on the screen still go on after service showing Oil and Filter Change?

The car is new and after the first service the message still came on the screen
to Change Oil and Filter

The light will go on until you reset it ... your owners manual tells you what to do ...Our car requires that you pump the brake pedal while turning the ignition on (I think)
