I have a 94 chev suburban, im having a problem with reverse. all the drive gears work but when I put it in reverse it does not work. could this be any other problem other than the trany?  4 wheel drive automatic

That is a sign of the transmission is on its way out. Sorry. :(

Yep most likely broke the reverse band inside the tranny.
