No 3rd, 4th gear and speedo quit working at same time.

Asked by Jan 10, 2014 at 06:28 PM about the 1994 Chevrolet Chevy Van

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

94 G20, 350, 4L60E. Coachman conversion. Speedo has been going crazy lately. I didn't care. The day it stops completely, she won't get out of 2nd gear. Are these problems related electronically?

Via the ECM yes. Have the codes pulled, chances are you will find a code for speed sensor and possibly more.

Thanks, tennisshoes. Does this van have something similar to the OBDII in my 95 Jeep? With it, I click the key on & off a few times and the check engine light blinks out the codes.
