1994 Chevy Cavalier motor mounts do they break

Asked by Ramcharger_5352 Apr 23, 2015 at 07:38 PM about the 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After having the transmission repaired (pump and torque converter) within 30 minutes after driving the car it shakes rattles and rolls while idling.  Took it back to transmission shop and they put it on the lift and said the rubber on the engine mount broke off.  Is this normal as I now have to purchase a new mount because they do not sell the rubber separately.

It was damaged during the repair, but was probably old and original mount on car,and yes you have to but the whole mount assembly, cant just buy they rubber bushing.

also, the engine should have been supported before they ripped it out..but here again that should have been checked at the time..
