Last week or so I find that my accelerator is lower towards the floor can this be in my head because car works fine!

You may have had two springs holding the throttle linkage and one of them broke. Does it seem easier to push?

Thanks for the reply! No it feels identical and it is not any harder to drive , but I can tell that there is a lot less free play before it reaches the floor I have no problem with it as long as it doesn't get any lower?!

if i remember correctly vw's and audis had shift able gas peddles. see if you can't get your head in behind the peddle and check it out you may find that the piece that holds the peddle up either loose or missing and broken.
