Car wouldn't go over 20 miles per hour now it won't stay on

My car is a 1996 Chevy Cavalier
it's never done anything it's I've
had it for very long time it started
to where it won't wouldn't go past
20 miles per hour now when you
start it you can't get it to stay on
any help please I can't afford to
shop

Bad news, if it's that far gone then your going to need a shop to run the diagnostics on it to find out what went wrong. When it went into low power mode it needed checked right away. Maybe you know someone who knows someone that works on cars as a hobby, they might have the test equipment as least to get enough information out of it to start diagnosing the trouble.
