2005 Ford escape transmission

When it changes into last gears it jumps cutting
out sounds is this the transmission going out ?
Also when it was messing up in last gears the oil
light came on and stayed on till I reached my
distination

Oil light means low oil pressure. Have the transmission serviced and a mechanic to diagnose the engine to see if the oil pump is faulty or it's just the sensor. If you continue to drive it that way expect to be stuck on the side of the road at some point.
