Hello, so the transmission on our 97 ford mondeo is playing up, it is a real struggle trying
to move the stick into any gear. Anyone know what the problem is?

Check your clutch fluid level. If it's ok then have someone depress the clutch as you watch the slave cylinder. Is it fully extending? Probably not. If not try bleeding it. Sometimes this helps. But most likely you will need to replace it. If fluid level is low inspect for leaks. Most leaks will be found on front of master cylinder on firewall above clutch pedal or around slave cylinder. If one is leaking fluid replace it.

Where would i find the clutch fluid?

Not exactly sure of the location of yours but on most models the resivoir is along the firewall attached to the top of your clutch master cylinder. Look in engine compartment right along the top of the firewall right above the clutch pedal. Now don't mistake the brake fluid resivoir for the clutch fluid.

Hey so when the car is off, changing gear is easy, works all good, but when the vehicle is turned on it is near imppossible to move into any gear? Would this still be a clutch or transmission fluid problem?

That sounds just like a clutch master or slave cylinder issue.
