Car won't start

Question type: General

My 98 Chevy lumina died  at a stop sign but started
back up in like 2 min drove for about 7 miles then
turned car off but then wouldn't start back up what
could be the problem

I also just got a new alternator so it can't be that

Check the battery cable connections and the connections at the starter. These connections should be free of corrosion and tight. Is the check engine light lit? The new alternator could be defective or the problem could be unrelated to the alternator.
