That happens quite a bit with older Toyotas. Typically, you have to violently shake the steering wheel while turning the key. Give that a try.

2009 is an 'older' Corolla? Anyway Reelin68 I have seen many of your posts and I value your opinion highly, it's obvious you know what you are talking about. But this one we disagree. The car rolled. Something may have happened to the front end, like if the car is parked hard up against a curb and pushing on it the wheel will lock and the car has to be moved off the curb to free up the steering, then the key. Althought I must admit what you suggest might even work....shake the wheel HARD while turning key, but have your front end looked at while a collsion shop, something may be binding the steering ..an it has never happened in my 2006

I guess I worded that completely wrong. What it should have said was: This also happens with the older model Corollas.....good catch FordNut.
