How do you time a454 vortek
Timing is computer controlled so timing is not set the normal way. Why do you need to do this?
hi TS...maybe this will help the guy.....http://www.gmtruckcentral.com/articles/distributor.html
Yes that is good information, but I never found setting it to be as critical as they make it sound. TDC is TDC on the crank as well as the cam sync setting, if have seen these out 30 degrees on the offset and still run normal.
yea.. But TDC is TDC and is still TDC looking at it but inside its not..you set advance /retard of the cam to crank degrees... before a lot of racers were moving there tq curve around i was..advance or retard the cam... if you have to much bottom end( retard) and/or not enough top end (advance).. but im talking 2-4-6 deg max..anything more and it was the wrong cam..also..over lap we should not forget, but thats for another day..the info i sent was for answering his question..http://www.gmtruckcentral.com/articles/distributor.html..ps..t hanks ts..
