this might or might not have anything to do with the spot on my driveway, but a
couple of days ago while driving I heard a kinda pop and a hiss, like the sound of
opening a soda can come from the rear of my truck. I stopped to check it out , but
could see nothing leaking, or looking out of place.
today I noticed a spot in the driveway about a dinner plate size, that was kinda oily
and dark and came from the rear axel area in the center of the truck. I've crawled
under the truck and can't find anything that looks like a fresh leak. No drips, no
warning lights, and it seems to drive just fine. I don't hear any noises coming from
underneath the truck. I have no idea what this could be or where to start. I have a

Does the fluid have a bad smell to it? If so, it's gear oil from your differential. But since you heard a hiss, it suspect it might be brake fluid and you popped one of the lines due to rust? the hissing was a vacuum leak from the brake booster when the line broke? Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir to see if it's at the max line. Just a guess at this point.
