I DRILLED OUT THE CATALTYIC CONVERTOR ON MY 2008 MAXIMA, BUT SINCE I HAVE THE CAR HAS BEEN RIDING ROUGH AND SHAKING ALOT. ITS NOT THE TIRES OR TRANSMISSION.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I HAVE CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS AND BOOTS, AND AFTER THAT IT SETTLED DOWN FOR A WEEK OR SO. I TOOK IT TO MECHANIC AND THEY STATED IT WAS THE MOTOR MOUNTS/STRUTS. I REPLACED ALL OF THAT, AND IT IS STILL SHAKING AND RIDING ROUGH. IT IS OK UNTIL THE CAR WARMS UP, BUT I DID NOT REPLACE ANY OF THE SENSORS BEFORE OR AFTER THE CONVERTORS. I AM BEGINING TO THINK THIS IS THE PROBLEM, OR COULD THE MOTOR BE GOING OUT.

Unfortunately, the computer controls the air/fuel mixture to control emissions. Disabling the Catalytic converter is not only illegal but it also will mess with the computer. You need to check the computer for error codes in the computer and you will likely need to replace the catalytic converter.
