If it is the yellow check engine light then it means that there is a problem with the engine management system and the codes will have to be checked to help with locating the problem. If it is the red check engine light is means that the engine has lost oil pressure, do not drive or you will ruin the engine.

Check to make sure they didn't leave the plug loose. Sometimes what happens too is someone buys a vehicle and does an oil change with a light weigh oil not knowing what type oil it had before. The engine might've had internal wear and was using heavier oil so now with lighter weight you loose the pressure and light comes on

Check your oil level!
