I have a 1988 98 Oldsmobile and the steering wheel won't shift into drive or anyting how do I fix it

In a thirty year old car, it could be anything. Might be a defective brake-shift interlock or damaged shifter or linkage. Start there, and if it still not working, see a transmission shop.
